Each day, laptop and children permitting, Iβll share a prompt thatβs been on my mind, and a few of my thoughts.
You are welcome to share your own perspective in the comments, or just journal it out!
Which of my goals is my top priority?
Do you ever feel like it’s difficult to make forward progress? I laughed with Joe the other day at the number of goals I am steadily stockpiling.
I want to grow healthy habits physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and teach my kids to do the same – plus – homeschool, housework, blogging, holidays, investing in my marriage… And, did you know we moved into our house over a year and a half ago now and still haven’t hung up our picture frames?
It’s like living paycheck-to-paycheck, except with the daily little things in life.
I have all of these amazing goals I want to accomplish, but I’m so busy trying to keep the everyday things from going under that there isn’t a lot of room for extra.
Only, “extra” is actually quite important, because, while survival mode is sometimes necessary, it’s not sustainable.
So, I’ve started trying to focus one thing, one area of development at a time (an idea I got from my handy-dandy @anchorplanner ).
Then, when I come to the fork in the road between good, better, or best, I know which choice to make.
My primary goal these days is pretty personal; yours might be, too.
But, if not, feel free to share.
What is that one little thing that will help you feel like you’re doing more than keeping your head above water?

One of my top goals is to create a sustainable income as a writer. Another goal is to make a lasting emotional impact on my readers. Of course, I am hoping that these goals will, at some point, coincide. π

I love that! I had a mentor tell me once that too many people don’t admit they want to make money off of what they do, but that that’s just a less detectable way of de-valuing ourselves. I am rooting for you, friend!

I do the same thing except I focus on making one step toward one of my goals every week. I’m a plannig nut so I have a book with my BIG goals each year in the front and I do my small-step planning each week. I know.. I’m chronic π

Fellow planners unite! Haha! I love the idea of breaking bigger goals up like that.
