Is there a part of myself that I hesitate to embrace?
One of the biggest ways I live from a place of scarcity, rather than abundance, is people-pleasing. Can you relate?
Sometimes, external demands cause us to unconsciously hold back pieces of our identity, rather than fully embrace who we are.
And, this is different from curation.
We choose – and rightly so – what we feel safe entrusting to others. But, does peer pressure ever cause you to be less than honest with yourself?
For example, I would love to make an income, even a small one, as a blogger/writer/podcaster.
It almost feels taboo to say it out loud, because “making money” usually has a selfish connotation.
But, did you know there are several reasons that isn’t selfish?!
- Providing for our families while being present with them?
- Financial security and the ability to help others in need?
- Making a difference with the lessons life is constantly teaching us?
Only, it’s easy to get caught up in how we “should” talk, or feel, about money and, dare I say, “influencers”.
The truth is, we all have influence – for better or for worse.
The good kind starts with you believing in yourself.

100% ! Doing what we love + getting paid would be amazing. But I suppose not all payment is financial. Happy Thanksgiving, friend ❤️.

This one hits a nerve for me. Recently, I’ve been obsessing over content and titles for my blogs. I feel like if I want to get more readers I should write about topical issues and write titles that attract attention… BUT… is that what God wants me to write? Is that the right reason to write? Am I serving people or myself?
Thanks for sharing those very good reasons to focus on making money from blogging. They reminded me of the good reasons to focus on the business and not to judge myself too harshly.

Content is such a struggle! Wanting enough, wanting to honor God, wanting to be sincere and not have to force it… I understand. I think you’re right, though, we are often harder on ourselves than we need to be. Keep writing and spreading the light, friend!
