Each day, laptop and children permitting, I’ll share a prompt that’s been on my mind, and a few of my thoughts.
You are welcome to share your own perspective in the comments, or just journal it out!
How can I use my talents to help others?
Yesterday’s prompt got me thinking…
If we all have influence – for good or for ill – how am I using mine?
It may feel like tooting your own horn, but, honestly: how do you use your skillset to make a difference? Do you have ideas you have yet to put into practice?
You have something to offer that only you can offer, in a way that no one else can.
Plus, you know that overwhelming feeling that only 2020 can provide? Looking for ways to be there for someone else helps. It gets me out of my own head, and works miracles on both sides of the equation.
Actually, I’ve been trying to teach my kids about gratitude using the same approach. We talk about other cultures and ways of life. We learn together not to take the little things for granted.
So, how are you using your unique identity, perspective, and talents to make a difference? Or, what is holding you back?
❤ Jenny
Some of my writing contains “dark” themes. It is not to encourage the darkness, but to shine a light on that particular subject, to encourage empathy from those who may not understand, and to show others that they are not alone. “Like A Mousetrap” is a book involving depression, bullying, and dysfunctional family relationships. These are common issues among many teenagers and I hope to bring awareness to these problems.

That’s a wonderful purpose and goal. I’ve been blessed to learn a lot by the experiences of others, and I’m grateful for when those around me share their hearts for just that reason.

With my kids, I try to encourage open-mindedness about religion and culture among other things. I encourage accepting and respecting differences even if we don’t believe or understand them. As for my blog, I’m just honest about my accounts but try to find the positives in life.

I think teaching our kids is one of the best gifts as a mother ❤️. And honesty on your blog is one of the reasons I love what you share! It’s so nice to hear stories and perspectives that aren’t “picture perfect” sometimes.
