Does anyone else remember Colbie Caillat? She was my jam in high school ♫♪. And so when I saw she was being interviewed on Cathy Heller’s podcast Don’t Keep Your Day Job, I had to listen. It’s not a podcast I usually frequent, but I’m converted — because just two weeks later there was an incredible interview for entrepreneurs from Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran! And, fun fact for you guys: that’s my favorite TV show. Today, I share 3 of my personal takeaways from each of these interviews with you, and link you up for the full scoop. Continue reading Monday Mention: Don’t Keep Your Day Job
Coming at you with another podcast recommendation today folks! Sorry if you aren’t a podcast listener 😅. Maybe one of these days I will convert you. Continue reading Monday Mention: The Create Joy Podcast
Before Joe and I moved from where we attended college, we volunteered with an organization called the Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection (CRIC). Let me tell you more about it ❤ Continue reading Monday Mention: Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection (CRIC)
In preparing for our podcast, I have found a treasure-trove of new friends, and Haili is one of them. THIS is Legit Motherhood is a beautiful podcast dedicated to: real and raw motherhood. I listened to my first episode a couple of weeks ago — Episode 17: The Powerful Light in the Darkness of Postpartum Depression and Anxiety — and I cried my eyes out. Continue reading Monday Mention: THIS is Legit Motherhood
In case you missed it, I whipped out a great graphic (dutifully created in paint by a clear amateur 😂) in Saturday’s post about self-awareness. Being aware of my self-talk has absolutely changed my life, but, particularly in regard to the truths we tell ourselves, there are two podcasts that really inspired this shift. Continue reading Monday Mention: The Joyful Soul Project and The Beauty Coach Podcast
For the first 5 years of my marriage, I prayed nearly every night that God would let my husband and I die together — preferably of old age, holding hands like the cute couple in The Notebook. I almost feel like I have it too good, like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. I fear loss, and I fear being left behind. But I want to live in faith, not fear. So, I have two questions to pose to you, dear reader: Continue reading Monday Mention + Resilience and Loss Question and Discussion
I recently heard maybe the most raw podcast I have ever listened to, and I listen to a lot. So, if ever you listen to an episode I recommend, I invite you to listen to this one: Continue reading Monday Mention: About Progress with Monica Packer
A couple of weeks ago, my cousin shared a piece of her heart on her page, Brett and Paige Hoping 2 Adopt: “I have never been a patient person. Especially when I can’t see the end in sight. Prayer and Faith have been so important on this 3 1/2 year journey. I’m lucky to have Brett to keep me a little sane! If any of you believe in the power of prayer, we would love it if you threw some good thoughts our way! #prayer #faith #godstiming #trustinHim”
Her sweet request moved me, and, for what little difference it might make, I wanted to give them a special shout-out. Continue reading Monday Mention: Brett and Paige Hoping 2 Adopt

I want to thank Jacquie of Joy Cottage, and Pallavi of Curating Thoughts, for recommending me for another Sunshine Blogger Award! I sincerely appreciating your thinking of me. As I recently participated in one of these, I wanted to do things a bit differently today, and simply give a special shout-out to Jacquie and Pallavi, as well as answer their questions for me. Continue reading Monday Mention: Joy Cottage and Curating Thoughts
I switched up my segments this week, because the story of this incredible mother and her son has been written on my heart. I don’t have children with disabilities. I have family that battles mental health issues, but I’m not an expert. However, I listened to an interview recently on one of my favorite podcasts with Sherrine and Dayton Hayward, and I felt impressed to share these takeaways with you (feel free to go directly to the episode as well):
Continue reading Monday Mention: Sherrine and Dayton Hayward + 5 Lessons Those Living with Disabilities Can Teach You
This podcast recommendation came from a couple of friends I really admire. I am decidedly an introvert, so entrepreneurship has never been in the cards for me, but I’ve found that lessons about valuing people and braving mistakes apply wherever you’re at in your journey of becoming. So, what tips do some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs have to share with you? Continue reading Monday Mention: How I Built This with Guy Raz
One of my favorite podcasts about guilt-free lifestyle change is the Cut the Fat Podcast with Ray Hinish and Blythe Wagner. Today, I want to introduce one episode in particular that completely changed the way I think about weight loss— Episode 97: The 10 Commandments of Permanent Fat Loss— along with the “commandment” that most stood out to me.
When Tuesday morning rolls around, I strap the kids in the stroller, and make a loop around the neighborhood, while I listen to a favorite podcast of mine: Family Looking Up.
I mentioned in a recent Wednesday Walk Along that the girls and I spent a decidedly-pampered two days celebrating my mom’s birthday (shopping, applying face masks, and talking all about the boys, of course). We stayed the night in Cedar City, Utah, and I was chomping at the bit to introduce my family to this restaurant while there.
